Event overview
The Moranbah Australia Day Triathlon takes place on 26 January 2026 at the Greg Cruickshank Aquatic Centre, 20 Batchelor Parade, Moranbah, QLD 4744, Australia. The event lists 100 participants and is supported by Isaac Regional Council, Australia Day Grants, and Tri-ActiV8. Registration is free. The first 100 entrants receive a free race singlet if sizes are available. A BBQ breakfast is provided for participants. Presentations are scheduled after the race.

- Sprint (ages 16+): 600m swim | 20km cycle | 5km run
- Aquabike (ages 16+): 600m swim | 20km cycle
- Aquathon (ages 16+): 600m swim | 5km run
- Duathlon (ages 16+): 2.5km run | 20km cycle | 5km run
- Teams (ages 12+): 600m swim | 20km cycle | 5km run
- Enticer (ages 12+): 300m swim | 12km cycle | 2.5km run
- Mini Kids (ages 7-12): 50m swim | 2km cycle | 500m run
- Mini Kids Aquathon (ages 7-12): 50m swim | 500m run
Swims take place in the Greg Cruickshank Aquatic Centre pool using lane swimming. For the Sprint swim, participants start in waves of five every minute and swim up and down lanes before exiting near the bike entry; Enticer waves use ten per start. The Sprint cycle is three laps (20km) and the Sprint run is three laps (5km); the Enticer cycle is two laps (12km) and the Enticer run is two laps (2.5km).
Prize money
Isaac Regional Council provides cash prizes. For the long course triathlon (male and female): 1st $500, 2nd $300, 3rd $150. Additional event prizes include team triathlon (1st $200, 2nd $100, 3rd $75), Enticer triathlon (1st $150, 2nd $100, 3rd $50), Mini Kids triathlon (1st $75, 2nd $50, 3rd $25), and single-event prizes of $50 for Aquabike, Aquathon, and Duathlon first places.
