The event is scheduled for Saturday September 26th 2026. Teams of two to four people travel together and navigate to checkpoints, punching a team passport at each checkpoint to confirm completion. The race is expected to take between eight to ten hours to complete, depending on rate of travel and decision making. The field is limited to 20 teams.
The 2026 course includes trekking mainly off trail, mountain biking on gravel, pavement and quad trails, and paddling on larger Manitoba lakes using canoes or kayaks; packrafts are not allowed this year. Mystery challenges may be assigned during the race. Only maps supplied by the race organizers are permitted; the 2026 maps are a hybrid of municipal maps and Google Maps. Scoring requires teams to obtain mandatory checkpoints in the order given. Teams must travel together within 50 m and hand in their passport at the finish to qualify for unmanned checkpoints.
