Moonlight Chase : Eldridge, IA
Moonlight Chase is a community running event held in downtown Eldridge on North Second Street. The event program includes youth runs and a certified road race. Race packets may be picked up on the day before the event and on race day at the Thrive Financial Building, basement, 220 W. Davenport Street, Eldridge, IA. Registrations received prior to June 26 are guaranteed a race shirt. Parking is available at North Scott High School, Sheridan Meadows Park, and on nearby side streets; a detailed map is available on the event website.
The event has special safety rules because it takes place at night. Wheelchair participants are permitted. Prohibitions on the course include baby strollers, roller blades, bicycles, and pets. The finish line is on North Second Street in downtown Eldridge with free refreshments and a medical facility available at the finish area. Race coverage appears in The North Scott Press and results are posted on the event website.
Distances offered:
- 1/4 mile youth fun run for ages 6 and under
- 1 mile youth run and walk for ages 7 to 12
- 4 miles certified run
Awards include medallions for the youngest fun run participants, trophies for overall winners, age group medals for 1st to 4th place, and separate Athena and Clydesdale division awards. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
