Montana Cup
The Montana Cup is a cross-country team meet held in Billings, Montana at 2531 Mary St. The event brings together runners and running communities from across the state to compete for a traveling trophy called the Montana Cup. Races are held on a cross-country course rather than on roads or as an ultra trail.
The meet includes separate women's and men's races with age categories that remain part of the overall results. Each race distance is 5K and the event emphasizes statewide team competition and continued participation in training and racing for runners of different ages. Organizers state the event aims to leave participants thinking the course was "excellent, exciting & beautiful."
Registration opens on September 1, 2026, and registration closes at noon on October 30, 2026; there is no race day registration. The entry fee for the listed races is $30.00. The event is hosted by the Yellowstone Rim Runners organization. Awards and refreshments are provided as part of the meet. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
