Raiffeisen Montafon Arlberg Marathon
The Raiffeisen Montafon Arlberg Marathon is a mountain trail event that links two valleys and two Austrian federal states. The classic marathon distance covers 42,195 km and is listed with 1,500 meters of elevation gain, leading from St. Anton am Arlberg in Tirol to Silbertal in Vorarlberg through the Verwall Natura 2000 area.
The event program includes several route options:
- 42,195 km Marathon, start St. Anton am Arlberg, finish Silbertal
- 33 km T33 Trail, start St. Anton am Arlberg, finish Silbertal
- 15 km Panoramatrail, start and finish St. Anton am Arlberg
- 33 km Wandererlebnis, start St. Anton am Arlberg, finish Silbertal
- 580 m to 1.2 km Kindertrail, different age classes, start and finish Silbertal
Routes traverse alpine terrain such as mountain forests, streams and the Winterjöchle pass; the T33 in particular passes waterfalls and mountain lakes. The Panoramatrail runs partly around a lake and over the Sattelwaldweg. The 2026 edition ran with an altered course and attracted about 900 participants; that year the marathon route differed and covered roughly 38 km with about 1,250 meters of ascent.
