Monster of Mazinaw Trail Race 2026 : Bon Echo Provincial Park
The Monster of Mazinaw Trail Race takes place on September 19, 2026 at Bon Echo Provincial Park in Cloyne, Ontario. The event offers multiple trail distances:
- 43 km ultramarathon promoted as Canada’s shortest ultramarathon
- 30 km
- 10 km
The route includes a mix of wide groomed trails and technical rocky single track, with more technical single track than wide trail. A significant back-country section may require runners to go 12–14 km without aid, and some stretches could be as long as 17 km between aid stations. These sections are very rocky, contain many roots, and include steep ascents and descents; they can be slippery when wet. Participants are expected to be self-reliant and should carry sufficient food and water in a hydration pack.
Aid stations provide water, an electrolyte drink, PB & J, and sweet and salty snacks. The races are cup-less, so runners must bring a collapsible cup or bottle. The event is sanctioned by Athletics Ontario. La Sportiva will attend with demo shoes and prize giveaways.
Registration is capped at 250 participants. Entry fees include a race tee, race bib, a custom finisher medal for finishers, and food and drinks at aid stations. Park admission is not included. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
