Monster Dash 5K Run Walk
The Monster Dash in Platteville is a community run and walk held on October 17, 2026. The event is hosted by the Platteville Community Arboretum, a nonprofit organization established in 2004 with over 150 members.
The course is entirely on the Rountree Branch Trail near Valley Road and the City Garage parking area at 890 Valley Road. The route is an out and back on a very flat trail, with a turnaround at the fork by the gazebo. The start and finish are at the same location. The distance is 5K.
Online registration carries a fee of $25. Online registration ends October 15, 2026. In person registration is available the day of the event for $30 and accepts cash or Venmo. Registrations received by October 4 are guaranteed a T shirt; shirts are distributed with the race bib shortly before the event.
Costumes are encouraged and the event includes Halloween themed prizes, shirts and participant swag. Prizes are awarded by age category and gender; prizes have included gift cards and jugs of apple cider rather than medals. Parking is available in the City Garage parking lot at 890 Valley Road. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
