Monster Dash 5K Run/Walk
Scheduled for October 17, 2026, the Monster Dash 5K Run/Walk is hosted by the Platteville Community Arboretum. The event is family-friendly and includes both runners and walkers.
The entire course is on the Rountree Branch Trail. The route starts on Valley Road across from the City Garage, proceeds north on the trail, and turns around at the halfway point by the fork near the gazebo. The course is described as very flat, and the finish line is at the same location as the start.
Parking is available at the City Garage parking lot at 890 Valley Road in Platteville. Participant amenities include shirts and other swag. Registrations received by October 4 are guaranteed a T-shirt. Prizes are awarded in age categories by gender; there are no medals, and prize types have included gift cards and apple cider jugs. Halloween costumes are encouraged and there are Halloween-themed prizes.
Online registration closes in mid-October; a day-of in-person registration option is available for a higher fee and accepts cash or VENMO. The standard registration fee is $25. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
