Monster Dash 5K Run/Walk
The Monster Dash 5K Run/Walk takes place on October 17, 2026 in Platteville, Wisconsin at 890 Valley Road. The event is hosted by the Platteville Community Arboretum and is organized for both runners and walkers.
The entire course is on the Rountree Branch Trail, beginning across from the City Garage on Valley Road. Participants follow the trail north and turn around at the halfway point at the fork by the gazebo. The course is described as very flat, and the finish line is at the same location as the start.
Online registration opens March 21, 2026 and closes in mid-October. The standard registration fee is $25; day-of registration is available for $30 in cash or Venmo. Registrations received by October 4 are guaranteed a T-shirt. All participants receive shirts and event swag.
The event is family-friendly and costumes are encouraged. There are Halloween-themed prizes and awards for runners by age category and gender. Organizers note that there are no medals and that prizes may include gift cards and apple cider jugs. Parking is available in the City Garage parking lot at 890 Valley Road.
