About the race
The Mojave Run the Runway 5K is an annual, Halloween themed road race hosted by the Mojave Fitness Center at Mojave Airport. The course uses the airport runway, a three mile long historic strip that has been used by military fighters, the Virgin Galactic Unity spaceship, and the Stratolaunch aircraft. The event lists Mojave Air And Space Port and Elevation Health among its sponsors.
The event is limited to a maximum of 150 racers. Registration is non-refundable and the race is held rain or shine. Children under 11 enter free; children and youth 17 and under must be accompanied by an adult at all times. Pets are not allowed. Restrooms are located inside the Fitness Center and parking is available on the south side paved spaces.
Race packet and bib pickup are available at the Fitness Center on the two days before the race and also on race day at the Fitness Center. Timing chips are not offered; a finishing timer clock will be at the finish and the race clock starts with the first corral. The Mojave Fitness Center also offers training classes and personal training in advance of the event, and volunteer and sponsorship inquiries are handled through the Fitness Center.
