Event Details
The MJ's Stampede takes place in Fort Smith, Arkansas, on Saturday, September 19, 2026. It is a charity event that raises funds for Blood Cancer United, an organization that provides resources and support for blood cancer patients and survivors.
Distances and Format
The event features a certified 5K run, a certified 10K run, and a timed 5K walk. The 10K run is designated as the RRCA Championship 10K for Arkansas and is part of the RRCA Grand Prix as a non-championship race. There is also a "Sleep In" donation option for those who wish to support the cause without participating in a run or walk.
Location
All events start and finish at the Greg Smith River Trail, located at 121 Riverfront Drive in Fort Smith.
Fees and Registration
The base entry fee is $30. This fee increases after September 5, 2026. Race day registration is available at a higher fee. Packet pickup is offered on Friday, September 18, at the Glass Pavilion on 100 N. B Street, and on Saturday morning at the race start location.
Awards and Recognition
Awards are given in multiple categories. There is an overall Stampede award for the top male and female finishers in both the 5K and 10K runs. The Grand Prix awards recognize the top three overall finishers and top finishers in masters (40+), grandmasters (50+), and seniors (60+) age categories for men and women. Age division awards are presented three deep in five-year increments for the 5K walk, 5K run, and 10K run. The RRCA AR 10K Championship awards are given in Open, 40+, 50+, and 60+ categories for men and women.
Participant Perks
Participants who register prior to September 6 are guaranteed a race t-shirt or tank top. Shirts may be available on race day for those who register later, depending on supply. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
