MJC 5k Run for Justice
The MJC 5k Run for Justice is the 15th annual event and was postponed to July 9 after a severe weather forecast for June 11. The event is held at Veterans Park, 1450 N Lincoln Memorial Drive, Milwaukee, WI 53202.
The program includes multiple distance options and charging a registration fee of $30 for each listed entry. Registrations made for the original June 11 date were automatically moved to the July 9 event; participants who cannot attend the new date will receive instructions on how to defer their registration until the following year.
Distances:
- 5K Run: 3.1 miles
- 5K Walk: 3.1 miles
- 1 Mile Walk: 1 mile
The event benefits the Milwaukee Justice Center, a self-help center located in the Milwaukee County Courthouse that offers assistance to people who cannot afford an attorney and who represent themselves in civil cases. The Milwaukee Justice Center uses over 350 volunteers to serve around 10,000 individuals with self-help form assistance and brief legal advice services. The project is a partnership between the Milwaukee County Clerk of Courts, Marquette University Law School, and the Milwaukee Bar Association.
