About the race
The Hyundai Mitja Marató Barcelona by Brooks is an urban running event held in Barcelona. The race features a certified distance of 21.097 km, regulated by the FCA, RFEA, and World Athletics. The course is entirely urban and follows an officially measured circuit through the city.
Participants must be at least 18 years old on the day of the event. The race is open to both federated and non-federated runners. Special categories are established for athletes with disabilities, including wheelchair users, individuals with visual impairments, and those with intellectual disabilities. Athletes in wheelchairs follow a specific starting procedure and are required to be at the line early.
The event includes several services for participants:
- Expo Sports, where race bibs and runner bags are distributed in the days leading up to the race.
- Liquid refreshment stations located approximately at the 5 km, 10 km, 15 km, and 17.5 km marks.
- A final refreshment area at the finish line providing both liquids and solids.
- A wardrobe service for storing personal belongings.
- Medical services positioned along the route and at the start and finish areas.
A maximum of 40,000 bibs are available for the event. The start is organized into different corrals based on predicted finish times, which are identified by specific colors on the bibs.
