Mitja Marató Barcelona
The Mitja Marató Barcelona is a half marathon featuring a 21.097 km urban course through the city of Barcelona. The event is organized by RPM Sports in coordination with the Institut Barcelona Esports. The route is certified and regulated by the FCA, RFEA, and World Athletics, ensuring a standardized competition environment.
Participants must be at least 18 years old on the day of the event. The registration is open to both federated and non-federated runners. The event has a maximum capacity of 40,000 participants. For safety and organizational reasons, specific categories are established for athletes in wheelchairs, as well as those with visual or intellectual disabilities.
The course features multiple hydration stations located approximately at kilometers 5, 10, 15, and 17.5, with liquid and solid refreshments available at the finish line. The time limit for completing the race is 2 hours and 45 minutes from the moment the last participant crosses the start line.
Race logistics include:
- A bib collection point at Expo Sports during the days preceding the race.
- Start corals organized by expected finish times and identifying colors.
- A mobile application for live tracking of participants.
- Medical services distributed along the route and at the start and finish areas.
The technical management is overseen by the RFEA Jury Committee, and timing is conducted via a single-use chip that must be returned after the race. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
