Mitja Marató Barcelona
The Mitja Marató Barcelona is an urban running event held in the city of Barcelona. The course covers a total distance of 21.097 km and is entirely on city streets. The route is certified and regulated by the FCA, RFEA, and World Athletics.
The event is open to participants who are at least 18 years old on the day of the race. The registration is limited to a maximum of 40,000 participants to ensure safety and quality for all runners. Specific categories are established for athletes with disabilities, including wheelchair users, participants with visual impairments, and those with intellectual disabilities.
The start area is organized into colored pens based on estimated completion times provided during registration. Participants can find liquid refreshment stations approximately every 5 kilometers (at km 5, 10, 15, and 17.5), and both liquid and solid refreshments are available at the finish line. A maximum time limit of 2 hours and 45 minutes from the last departure is set for completing the course.
Participants must collect their race numbers and timing chips in person at the Expo Sports fair during the days leading up to the event. No race numbers are distributed on the day of the race. The timing chip is for single use and must be returned at the end of the event. Medical services are positioned along the route and at the start and finish areas for participant safety.
