Misty Ridge Trail Run : Long Tom Pass, Lydenburg
Misty Ridge Trail Run is a one-day trail running event held at Potato Seed Production Farm Sterkspruit near Lydenburg in Mpumalanga. The event offers multiple route distances, on-course aid stations, and published elevation profiles with GPX files.
Available route options:
- 6.5 km R80 pet friendly 2 aid stations elev gain ~160 m on-day surcharge R20
- 10 km R150 pet friendly 2 aid stations elev gain ~350 m on-day surcharge R20
- 21 km R300 not pet friendly 4 aid stations elev gain ~900 m on-day surcharge R50
- 42 km R600 not pet friendly 6 aid stations elev gain ~1800 m on-day surcharge R100
Mandatory race kit includes a space blanket, whistle, one litre of water and a cell phone. Camping stands are available at the venue for R100 per person per night. Food trucks and a beer tent operate on the event weekend, including Friday evening and Saturday morning services.
Event terms state there are no refunds for rain, lightning or venue rain damage cancellations, and no transfers of online entries for no-shows. Dog rules are strict: dogs are allowed only on the 6.5 km and 10 km routes, must be kept on leash, only dogs taking part may be brought, and non-adherence may incur a R1 000 fine.
