Mississippi Blues Marathon Event Details
The Mississippi Blues Marathon takes place at Jackson State University in Jackson, Mississippi. The event features multiple race distances held at the Mississippi Veterans Memorial Stadium. All in-person races utilize the same location for both the start and finish lines, specifically positioned on the 50-yard line inside the football complex.
Available Distances
Participants can choose from various race categories:
- 26.2 Miles (Full Marathon)
- 26.2 Miles (Marathon Relay)
- 13.1 Miles (Half Marathon)
- 6.2 Miles (10K / Quarter Note Marathon)
- 3.1 Miles (5K)
- 880 Yards (Kids Mini Marathon Half Mile Fun Run)
Virtual options are also available for the marathon, half marathon, 10K, and 5K distances. Virtual participants receive a race shirt, finisher medal, and bib by mail after the event.
Participant Amenities and Logistics
Registered athletes receive specific commemorative items based on their event. Marathon runners receive long-sleeve quarter-zip shirts, while participants in the half marathon, relay, 10K, and 5K receive short-sleeve technical t-shirts. All finishers across every distance are awarded a 4.5-inch 20th Anniversary finisher medal and a race bib.
The event includes post-race refreshments such as jambalaya, fruit, snacks, and various beverages. Special treats, including cupcakes, are provided to official finishers. For the kids' fun run, parents are permitted to run alongside their children at no additional cost.
