Event Overview
The Mississippi Blues Marathon event offers multiple race distances. The main events are the MS Blues Marathon, MS Blues Half Marathon, Quarter Note Marathon (10K), and a 5K. There is also a Marathon Relay and a BB Kids Mini Marathon, which is a half-mile fun run for participants 12 years old and under. The 2027 edition will be the 20th anniversary of the event.
Location & Course
All races start and finish on the 50-yard line inside the Mississippi Veterans Memorial Stadium at Jackson State University in Jackson, Mississippi. The start and finish area is located at the stadium's address: 2531 North State Street.
Participant Amenities
Registered athletes receive different apparel items based on their race. Marathon runners receive a long-sleeve sublimated quarter-zip shirt. Half marathon, marathon relay, 10K, and 5K runners receive a short-sleeve sublimated technical T-shirt. All finishers in every distance receive a 4.5-inch 20th-anniversary finisher medal. Post-race refreshments are provided for athletes, including plates of jambalaya, fresh fruit, chips, snacks, bottled water, bottled Gatorade, canned soft drinks, and Bud Light beer for those over 21. Cupcakes are served to honor finishers.
Additional Event Features
A new annual Mississippi Blues Marathon Wellness Festival is scheduled for the event weekend. Packet pickup and in-person registration take place on the Friday before the race at Veterans Memorial Stadium. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
