Miner 49er - Dubuque, IA
The Miner 49er is an endurance running event held at the Mines of Spain in Dubuque, IA. The course uses mostly single track, some double track, and prairie trail, and it includes stone steps, stream crossings, rocks, and roots. Runners pass views of the Julien Dubuque Monument, Horseshoe Bluff, and the Mississippi River.
Distances
- 25K: out and back with approximately 2200 feet of elevation gain
- 50K: two laps of the 25K course with approximately 4400 feet of elevation gain
The course includes three aid stations stocked with standard ultra event nutrition. Because the event takes place in a public park, non-race trail users may be encountered on course. A course cut off applies to both events.
Race policies note that registration fees are non refundable and registrations are not transferable to other participants or future years. Distance changes require confirmation with the race director before the start of the event; switching from 50K to 25K does not result in a refund. Switching from 25K to 50K requires verification and payment of any registration difference. Pacers are not allowed for either event.
Packet pick up is at the EB Lyons Interpretive Center at 8991 Bellevue Heights Rd on the day before the race and the morning of the event. No same day registration is available. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
