About the race
Miner 49er takes place on November 7, 2026 in Dubuque, Iowa, in the Mines of Spain area. The event features endurance trail running on marked park trails with multiple distance options.
- 25K out and back with approximately 2200 feet of elevation gain.
- 50K follows the 25K course twice with approximately 4400 feet of elevation gain.
The course uses mostly single track with some double track and prairie trail. Runners will pass the Julien Dubuque Monument, Horseshoe Bluff, and views of the Mississippi River. The route includes stone steps, stream crossings, and rocky, rooty sections. There are three aid stations stocked with typical ultra event nutrition. Because the event is held in a public park, non-race trail users may be present.
Race operations note that registration fees are nonrefundable and registrations are not transferable. Distance changes after registration require confirmation with the race director and may require payment of any price difference. Pacers are not allowed. Packet pick up is at the EB Lyons Interpretive Center at 8991 Bellevue Heights Rd with sessions the day before and the morning of the event. Same day registration is not available.
