Miner 49er, Dubuque, IA : November 7, 2026
The Miner 49er is a pair of trail endurance runs held in the Mines of Spain area near Dubuque, Iowa. The course follows single track, some double track, and prairie trail with sections that include stone steps, stream crossings, rocks, and roots. Runners pass views of the Julien Dubuque Monument, Horseshoe Bluff, and the Mississippi River.
Distances:
- 50K - two 25K loops, approx 4400 ft elevation gain
- 25K - out and back, approx 2200 ft elevation gain
The course is served by three aid stations stocked with typical ultra event nutrition. Because the event takes place in a public park, there may be non-race trail users; participants are asked to be respectful when passing others.
Registration closes on October 28 at 11:59 PM CT. Race registration fees are nonrefundable and not transferable. Distance changes require confirmation with the race director before the race for a 50K to 25K switch; switching from 25K to 50K requires director approval and payment of any registration difference. Pacers are not allowed. The cutoff time for both events is 5 PM.
Packet pickup is at the EB Lyons Interpretive Center, 8991 Bellevue Heights Rd, with sessions on the evening before the race and on race morning. No same day registration is available. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
