Miner 49er
The Miner 49er is an endurance running event held in the Mines of Spain park in Dubuque, IA on November 8, 2025. The event offers trail courses that run through single track, some double track, and prairie trail with views of the Julien Dubuque Monument, Horseshoe Bluff, and the Mississippi River.
Distances offered:
- 25K out and back with approximately 2200 feet of elevation gain
- 50K two laps of the 25K course with approximately 4400 feet of elevation gain
The course includes stone steps, stream crossings, and rocky, rooty trail sections. There are three aid stations on the course that will be stocked with standard ultra event nutrition. Because the runs take place in a public park, non race trail users may be present on the route.
Registration policies state that race fees are not refundable and registrations are not transferable. No same day registration is available. Changing a registered distance requires communication with the race director; switching from 50K to 25K must be confirmed before the start of the race and has no refund. Moving from 25K to 50K requires verification and payment of any registration price difference. Pacers are not allowed for either event.
Packet pickup is at the EB Lyons Interpretive Center at 8991 Bellevue Heights Rd prior to race day and on the morning of the event. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
