3rd Annual Miles for Mamas 5K
The Miles for Mamas 5K is an annual community event held in downtown Jackson, Mississippi. Taking place on April 18, 2026, this event serves as the grand finale of Black Maternal Health Week. The gathering focuses on raising awareness for Black maternal health, promoting community wellness, and advocating for healthier outcomes for Black families and babies within the state.
The event features several participation options for different ages and preferences:
- 5K Run (3.1 miles)
- 5K Walk (3.1 miles)
- Miles 4 Mamas Fun Run (Open to children ages 5-12)
- Virtual 5K Run (Remote participation option)
- Virtual 5K Walk (Remote participation option)
The in-person categories are based at 451 N Gallatin St. Participants who are among the first 150 to register are provided with a commemorative shirt. The event includes team participation options and fundraising leaderboards to support local advocacy efforts and maternal health initiatives. The Miles 4 Mamas Fun Run is designed as a safe and lively activity specifically for younger participants to join the celebration.
