The Miguel Reyes Elite/Fun 5K Run/Walk takes place on July 25, 2026, at Woodward Park - Mountain View Shelter in Fresno, California. This marks the event's 11th year. It is a community run/walk held in memory of Miguel Reyes, a runner from Fresno.
Distances and Events
The event features a main 5K run/walk with several participant categories: Non Students, Athena (for women over 185 lbs), Clydesdale (for men over 225 lbs), and separate events for College, High School, and Middle School students. There is also a series of short kids races:
- Kids Run Age 7-10: 400 meters
- Kids Run Age 5-6: 200 meters
- Kids Run Age 3-4: 100 meters
- Kids Run Age 1-2: 50 meters
- Kids Run Age Under 1: 10 meters
Amenities and Awards
The race offers a total of $16,000 in cash awards. These are distributed to the top five overall male and female finishers, the top three masters (age 40+) finishers, and for performance bonuses such as breaking course records. Additional bonus prizes are offered for being the first runner to reach the mile mark and for breaking specific time barriers. Unique trophies are awarded to the top three finishers in each age group, as well as in the Athena and Clydesdale categories. All kids' race participants receive a medal, shirt, and free tacos.
Other event amenities include a dri-fit singlet shirt for those registered before July 15, unique finisher medals, free tacos and Mexican aguas frescas, ice cream, and pint glasses. The event uses chip timing and the course is CIF High School Cross Country certified. A $300 cash award is given to the team with the most participants.
Logistics
Packet pickup is available on Friday, July 24, at Fleet Feet on North Ft. Washington Road in Fresno. Race day registration and packet pickup begin at 5:45 AM at the Mountain View Shelter in Woodward Park. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
