Midwest Championship Adventure Race

The Midwest Championship Adventure Race is held in Warsaw, Missouri, based at the Warsaw Community Building. This event serves as a Regional Championship race for the United States Adventure Racing Association (USARA) and a points race for the Adventure Racing World Series-North America (ARWS). Participation allows athletes to collect points toward national qualifications. For the 2026 edition, registration is open to all teams.

Participants can choose from three distinct course durations involving multiple disciplines:

  • 2 Hour course: Consists of 3-5 miles of hiking, walking, or running on a course that accommodates strollers and wheelchairs.
  • 6 Hour course: Includes approximately 25 miles of biking, 5-7 miles of trekking, and a 3-4 mile paddle.
  • 24 Hour course: Features 50-60 miles of biking (composed of 80% gravel and 20% singletrack), 12-14 miles of trekking, and 8-10 miles of paddling.

The event organizers provide pre-plotted maps on a 1:24k scale. For the water portions, kayaks are provided for solo participants and canoes are provided for teams. Personal paddles and life jackets may be used, though they are included with the provided watercraft. The event includes post-race snacks for the 6 hour participants and a post-race breakfast for those completing the 24 hour course. Registration is available for solo racers as well as teams of two, three, or four people. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
