Mad Trapper Mica Run
The Mad Trapper Mica Run is a community-focused trail race held at The Ark in Denholm, Quebec. The event raises funds for The Ark rescues and supports local animal rescue efforts.
The course features true single-track trails with twists, rocks and roots. Trails are well marked with coloured flags for each distance. There are no aid stations on course due to a lack of volunteers, but water is available at The Ark; 10 km runners pass that point on their second loop.
Distances offered:
- 3 km Hound Hike
- 5 km Sweet Spot
- 10 km Endurance Junkie
Dogs are welcome but not required; participants should expect dogs both on-leash and off. Every participant receives a custom engraved wooden plaque. Prizes provided by a sponsor are awarded at random, so finish position does not determine prize chances. The event includes a post-race meal with burgers, brownies, ice cream and beer. The race is named for Mica, a dog lost to cancer, and proceeds help defray costs of food and veterinary care for rescued dogs and to support partner rescue organizations.
