Mesa Falls Marathon
The Mesa Falls event offers multiple races around Ashton, Idaho, with point to point marathon and half marathon courses that begin on Scenic Highway 47 in the Targhee National Forest and finish in the city of Ashton. Shorter races start and end at the North Fremont High School.

The full marathon route includes a mix of surfaces: the first 14 miles on blacktop, 3.2 miles of packed trail along Warm River, and 13.6 miles of pavement. The course starts at about 6,135 ft and finishes near 5,253 ft, with an overall elevation loss of approximately 882 ft. There is one sustained uphill segment from mile 17.1 to 19.9 with roughly 300 ft of gain. Aid stations are located about every two miles and supply gels, bars, sports drinks, water, fruit, and sports lube.
Entry fees cover a long sleeved tech shirt, a finisher’s medallion, bus transportation to the start, and a huckleberry milkshake for finishers. The race has no official cutoff times and provides results kiosks near the finish. Support vehicles are allowed along the course but organizers do not provide return transportation to the start.
