Mesa Falls Marathon : Event overview
The Mesa Falls event includes a full marathon, a half marathon, a relay, a 10K, a 5K, and a 1 mile race. The marathon and half marathon are point-to-point races that begin on Scenic Highway 47 in the Targhee National Forest and finish in Ashton, Idaho. Short races start and end at the North Fremont High School track. The event is not a Boston qualifier.
Entry fees for the races include a long-sleeved tech shirt, a finisher’s medallion, bus transportation to the start, and a huckleberry milkshake for finishers. Packet pickup is available the day before the race at the Ashton Community Center with limited race-day pickup by exception. A full refund is available up to four weeks before the race. The race committee may cancel the event and refund policies depend on fixed costs at the time of cancelation.

Course and logistics
The marathon course combines paved and trail surfaces: about 14 miles of blacktop, 3.2 miles of packed trail along Warm River, and 13.6 miles of pavement. The course starts at about 6,135 ft elevation and finishes at about 5,253 ft for an overall elevation loss of about 882 ft. There is a notable uphill section between mile 17.1 and mile 19.9 with roughly 300 ft of gain over 2.8 miles. Aid stations are located approximately every 2 to 2.5 miles beginning near mile 2.
Bus transportation to the start loads at North Fremont High School and the finish is at the high school. Vehicle parking is available near the school. Restrooms and port-a-potties are provided at several course locations and at the finish. Clothing left at the start or with aid stations will be returned to the finish area. Dogs are not allowed on the course. Timing is provided by a professional timing service and there are no formal cutoff times. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
