Mesa Falls Marathon, Ashton, Idaho
Mesa Falls Marathon is a community road race held on the Mesa Falls Scenic Byway near Ashton, Idaho. The event has run since 1997 and records show entries from all 50 states and 16 countries in recent years.

The full, half and relay share one course. The 10K and 5K use separate courses. The marathon course starts at about 6,135 ft elevation and finishes at about 5,253 ft for a total elevation loss near 882 ft. The route is generally downhill, with a notable uphill section from mile 17.1 to mile 19.9 that gains roughly 300 ft over 2.8 miles.
The event is positioned for multi-day travel, with cabins, lodges and campgrounds within roughly 30 minutes of the start. The area offers nearby attractions such as the Henrys Fork trout water and access to Yellowstone and Grand Teton areas. Race photos are available for purchase, and timing records cited cover the period beginning in 2013 through 2025. For one recent year the half marathon field was capped at 300 entrants.
