About the race
The Meia Maratona Internacional do Rio de Janeiro 2027 is a road race held in Rio de Janeiro on 15 August 2027 with three official distances:
- 21K
- 10K
- 5K
The event uses different arenas: the 21K starts at Av. Delfim Moreira x Rua Cupertino Durão in Leblon and the 10K and 5K start at Av. Infante Dom Henrique, Aterro do Flamengo (near the former Hotel Glória). The 21K finishes at Aterro do Flamengo; the 10K and 5K have start and finish at Aterro do Flamengo. Course details are to be published with the route maps and may be changed by the organization for technical, legal or operational reasons.
Logistics noted in the athlete guide include an Expo Atleta for kit pickup (no kit delivery on race day), a bib equipped with an electronic timing chip, and bus-based guarda-volumes near the start that transport bags to the finish. Athletes are advised that bibs are personal and nontransferable, and valuables, documents and loose items should not be left in the guarda-volumes. There is a specific 50% discount benefit for athletes aged 60 or over and an exclusive service counter for this age group at kit collection. The event offers two registration options: Básica (R$120 plus fees) and Premium (R$400 plus fees), with Premium including a front-of-peloton start and additional kit items.
