XXXVI TotalEnergies Media Maratón Ciudad de Málaga
The XXXVI TotalEnergies Media Maratón Ciudad de Málaga is a road running event scheduled for Sunday, March 7, 2027. The race takes place on a flat, coastal circuit in the city of Málaga. Organized by Málaga Sport AD and Sport Life Ibérica with the collaboration of the City Council, the competition is included in the RFEA and World Athletics calendars.
The event features a single main distance:
- 21.097 km
The route is officially homologated and covers various scenic parts of the city. It starts and finishes at the Paseo del Parque, passing through the Port of Málaga, Paseo Marítimo Antonio Machado, and Paseo Marítimo Pablo Ruiz Picasso. The course is controlled by local police and competition judges, with a maximum time limit of 3 hours to complete the distance.
To ensure runner comfort and safety, the start is organized in four waves based on participants' predicted finish times. The first wave departs at 8:15 AM for athletes aiming for times under 1h 30'. Subsequent waves follow for those targeting 1h 45', 2h, and over 2h. Participants must be at least 18 years old on race day.

- Hydration stations at kilometers 5.5, 10.5, 12.5, 15.5, and 18, offering water and isotonic drinks.
- A free wardrobe service near the start area.
- Pacing groups (liebres) for target times of 1h25', 1h30', 1h40', 1h50', and 2h00'.
- A commemorative medal and an official technical shirt for finishers.
