May Fest 5K : Downsville, NY
May Fest 5K is a color run and walk held in Downsville, NY on May 16, 2026. The event is organized by the Downsville Central School Class of 2028 and raises funds for the class with a portion of proceeds directed to a nonprofit chosen by the class.
The event offers a 5K run and a 5K walk. The course is officially timed, finishes on Bridge Street near the Covered Bridge, and features color powder stations approximately every 0.5 miles along the running portion. The powder is described as non toxic and washable, but may stain clothing. Police, cones and signs will be used to alert motorists along the route.
Transportation to the start is provided by buses from the registration and parking area. Packet pickup is available the day before the event and on race day at check in. Day of registration and check in are available the morning of the race; cash or check are accepted for day of entry. Strollers are welcome and children in strollers do not need to register. No dogs are allowed. Restroom facilities are available at the parking site, the starting area and the finish.
Early entry fees and day of entry fees vary by age category; a group discount is offered for five or more participants.
