Event Overview
The May Fest 5K is a color run and walk event in Downsville, New York, scheduled for May 16, 2026. It is hosted by the Downsville Central School Class of 2028, with support from a local race organization team. A portion of the proceeds will benefit a nonprofit chosen by the class.
Course & Format
The event features a single 5K distance with separate start times for walkers and runners. It is a color run, with non-toxic, washable color powder stations located approximately every half mile along the course. The run starts at the Corbett Community Hall in Corbett, NY, and finishes on Bridge Street near the Covered Bridge. The course is officially timed, and traffic will be managed by police and signage.
Logistics & Registration
Participants are transported by shuttle bus from the registration and parking area to the start line. The last shuttle for all participants departs at 8:30 AM. Strollers are permitted, but dogs are not allowed. Children in strollers do not need to register.
Registration is available online or by mail. Those who register by April 25 are guaranteed a race shirt. Day-of registration is available for a higher fee, but shirts and participant packets may not be available. Pricing varies by age, with discounts for groups or families of five or more.
Awards
Awards are given for the top finishers in several categories: the top two walkers, and the first and second place men, women, boys, and girls in the run. An awards ceremony is planned for around 11:00 AM. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
