Last Chance Triathlon - Mattoon Area Family YMCA
The Last Chance Triathlon is held at the Mattoon Area Family YMCA on Sunday, October 4, 2026. The event is open to new triathletes and to those with previous triathlon experience. The swim portion takes place in the YMCA indoor pool; the bike and run segments begin and end at the Y.
The race course includes the following legs:
- 275 yard indoor pool swim
- 12 mile bike ride
- 3.1 mile run
Participants may register as an individual or as part of a team of two or three. Registration fees are listed as $70 individual and $50 individual per team, with race day registration listed as $75 individual and $60 individual per team. All participants registered by September 12 are guaranteed a tech shirt.
Age divisions for individual entrants cover 15 & under, 16–22, 23–29, 30–39, 40–49, 50–59, 60–69, and 70 & over. Awards are presented to overall male and female finishers and to the top two in each gender/age group. Helmets are required for the bike segment, and USAT rules will be used as a guideline for race conduct. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
