Mattoon Last Chance Triathlon
The Mattoon Last Chance Triathlon is scheduled for Sunday, October 4, 2026, at the Mattoon Area Family YMCA. The swim takes place in the YMCA indoor pool. The bike and run segments both begin and end at the YMCA facility.
The event offers individual and team entries. Teams may consist of two or three participants. Participants who register by September 8 are guaranteed to receive a tech shirt. Registration fees listed by the organizer are $70 for an individual and $50 per individual on a team for pre-registration, with higher fees for race day registration.
The race consists of the following distances:
- 275 yard indoor pool swim
- 12 mile bike ride
- 3.1 mile run
Individual age divisions include 15 & Under, 16–22, 23–29, 30–39, 40–49, 50–59, 60–69, and 70 & Over. Awards are given to the overall male and female finishers and to the top two in each gender and age group. Helmets are required for the bike segment. The event is not USAT sanctioned, but USAT rules will be used as a guideline. Packet pickup and a new triathlete orientation are scheduled on race day.
