Massanutten's Revenge 100
Massanutten's Revenge 100 is an ultramarathon held in the Massanutten range with a course length of 110 miles and total ascent and descent of 22,300 feet. The event is run in the reverse direction of the Massanutten Mountain Trails course and uses much of the same terrain while substituting road sections with trail. The route begins and ends at Camp Roosevelt in the Fort Valley area and includes repeated climbs of Waterfall.
The course relies on existing trail blazing rather than dedicated course markings, which can be faint at times and harder to follow at night. Aid is provided at a mix of staffed and unattended locations at various milepoints, including early stations near Habron Gap and Veach West, a midrace station at Woodstock Tower, and later support at Gap Creek and picnic area locations. Entrants will be assigned aid or supplies to provide. A GPX file and turn sheets are available for navigation.
There is no entry fee. Pacers are permitted. There is a crew requirement for the second half of the race that typically begins about 20 to 24 hours after the start. The overall time limit for the event is 48 hours.
The organizer requests volunteers to support the event across the long weekend. Medical services are not provided by the event; participants are responsible for their own health and safety and should expect limited or distant emergency medical access.
