About the race
The 31st Marxa del Garraf is a long-distance walking event that links the Garraf Massif and the sea. The route mainly crosses the Massís del Garraf and descends to the village of El Garraf, where participants may even bathe.
Key facts:
- 46 km with an accumulated ascent of 2,720 m (positive gain +1,360 m).
- Time limit to complete the route is 13 hours.
- A shorter tracked option of 23 km is available.
The route is marked with ribbons, vertical signs and flour arrows. Volunteers, about 125 people, staff control and aid stations. All aid stations offer water and food; the first aid station is about 10 kilometres from the start. The event takes place in a natural area and participants should act carefully toward the environment.
The Marxa began in 1995 and has been part of the Circuit Català de Caminades de Resistència since the first edition of the Cup. These circuit events are non competitive walking challenges in which time does not count; the individual reward is public recognition of completion.
Practical details include the start and finish at Plaça de Jaume Balmes in Gavà, in front of the town hall, and the date Sunday 8 November 2026. Registrations close on 25 October 2026 or when the quota of places is filled; the maximum number of registrations is 1000. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
