Marwell 10K

The Marwell 10K is a road race held at Marwell Zoo in Owslebury, near Winchester, Hampshire. This event is organized in partnership with Hedge End Running Club and supports global conservation efforts. The course consists of a single distance:

  • 10 km

The route is described as undulating and includes a hill leading into Owslebury village. The race begins at the zoo, heads out through the village and the surrounding Hampshire countryside, and concludes with a loop through the zoo grounds to the finish line.

Participants run on a road course that starts and finishes within the attraction's property. The event is held under UK Athletics rules, and participants must be at least 15 years old on the day of the race. Each runner's bib includes a chip timing strip for accurate results.

Available facilities at the venue include car parking, bag storage, toilets, and refreshments. Following the race, all participants receive free entry to the zoo gardens for the remainder of the day. Every finisher is awarded a bespoke medal themed after the Amur tiger. Additional options include a specific tiger-themed technical t-shirt, which can be purchased during the registration process. Proceeds from the event support Marwell Wildlife's conservation projects, specifically focusing on protection efforts for tigers in Bhutan.
