2026 Maruleng Mayor's Marathon
The Maruleng Mayor's Marathon is a road running event scheduled for September 26, 2026. The race is hosted at the Louis Calvin Moagi Sports Complex in Maruleng, Limpopo, South Africa. This competition is organized in accordance with the rules of Athletics South Africa (ASA), World Athletics (WA), and Limpopo Athletics (LIMA).
The event offers three distinct distance options to accommodate different participation preferences:
- 21.1 km half marathon
- 10 km race
- 5 km Fun Run or Walk
Participants can register online starting from July 1, 2026. On-site entries are also accepted on the morning of the race during a designated window. For those without a permanent running license, a temporary license can be purchased for an additional fee for the 21.1 km and 10 km distances.
Race number collection takes place over two days prior to the event and on the morning of the race at the sports complex. The organizers have established a prize purse totaling R50,000 for the event, and a prize-giving ceremony is held later in the morning. Refreshments are provided at the venue for attendees.
