Margaret River Ultra Marathon
The Margaret River Ultra Marathon takes place 8 to 9 May 2027 in the Margaret River region of Western Australia. The event showcases coastal and forest trail running along the Cape to Cape coastline, passing through Karri forests, cliff-top tracks, granite domes and white sandy beaches.
Participants can choose between several distances and formats:
- 80 km ultra solo or in a relay team of 2 to 5 runners
- 42 km trail marathon solo
- 2 km kids race
Course locations are specified for each distance: the 80 km route runs from Hamelin Bay to Howard Park, the 42 km route runs from Yallingup to Howard Park, and the kids race is at Howard Park. The event applies entry limits: the 80 km ultra is limited to 400 solo runners and 250 teams, while the 42 km marathon is limited to 400 solo runners. Entries for the 2027 edition open on 14 October 2026.
Past participants have described varied terrain that includes technical trail sections and extensive sand, noted checkpoint and on-course support, and highlighted a lively finish area.
