Margaret River Ultra Marathon : 8 to 9 May 2027
The Margaret River Ultra Marathon celebrates its tenth edition in 2027 with multi-distance trail events in the Margaret River region of Western Australia. The event features coastal and forest terrain including towering Karri forests, cliff top trails with ocean views, granite domes and white sandy beaches along the Cape to Cape coastline.
Entries for 2027 are allocated by ballot; the ballot is open from 9:00 AM (WST) Thursday 5 November to 11:59 PM (WST) Sunday 8 November 2026. The ballot process gives every applicant an equal opportunity to secure a place.
Race options and locations:
- 80 km ultra solo or relay team of 2 to 5 runners (course Hamelin Bay to Howard Park)
- 42 km trail marathon solo (course Yallingup to Howard Park)
- 2 km kids race (Howard Park)
Field limits are imposed: 450 solo runners and 250 teams for the 80 km event, and 400 solo runners for the 42 km marathon. The event includes solo and team formats and draws a wide range of participants. Support infrastructure such as checkpoints, drop bags and recovery areas are part of the race operations.
