March for the Fallen - Satellite Event at Cambridge Springs Readiness Center
This satellite ruck, hosted by the Pennsylvania Army National Guard and KRV Veterans Relief, takes place on September 19, 2026 at the Cambridge Springs Readiness Center. The event is rain or shine and seeks to honor the memory of fallen service members.
Events offered include:
- 28-mile heavy and light rucks
- 14-mile heavy and light rucks
- 5K run or walk
- 28-mile hand cycle
- Virtual 5K
Heavy categories require carrying a minimum 35 lb rucksack with a mandatory pre-event weigh in at a designated area; post-event weigh in applies to top finishers. Light categories may participate without a weighted pack but require a minimum 10 lb ruck to qualify for awards. The virtual 5K does not collect event times.
Routes follow public roadways, including Route 97, and include elevation changes and varied scenery. Longer routes start near the historic armory in Erie and end at the 1/112th Infantry location on Center Street in Cambridge Springs; shorter routes start near Fort LeBeouf Historical Center and the Eagle Hotel in Waterford and finish in Cambridge Springs. Transportation to start sites will be provided.
Bibs are provided at check in, must be displayed on the back while on course, and must be returned after finishing. Packet pickup is available the day before and on the day of the event at the Cambridge Springs Readiness Center. T shirts are sold separately and must be ordered by August 30 to pick up on race weekend; later orders may be available for delivery only after the event.
KRV Veterans Relief is a nonprofit supporting current and former US military members, Pennsylvania Guard members, and their families through scholarships and emergency relief, funded by donations and fundraisers. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
