Maratona e Mezza Maratona di Pisa
The Maratona and the Mezza Maratona (La Pisanina) take place in Pisa and are scheduled for 20 December 2026. The event routes run through the city’s historic areas, along the Lungarni and the centre, and finish in the area of the Leaning Tower of Pisa. The organiser frames the races as a combination of sport, local culture and urban scenery; professional athletes, amateurs and running enthusiasts take part.
Event features published by the organiser include:
- Maratona
- Mezza Maratona (La Pisanina)
Additional weekend activities include a non‑competitive Christmas Run held within the same race weekend. The Christmas Run uses part of the official course, provides personal timing (the timing result is not an official ranking), issues a finisher medal and is limited to 500 participants. Packet collection for the Christmas Run follows the same modalities as the marathon and the half marathon; the Christmas Run’s race pack contains a dedicated gadget different from the technical shirt given to other distances.
The event lists affiliations with national and international sports bodies and, for the 2025 edition, the organiser reported an estimated economic impact of about 2 million euros and around 10,350 people in the city. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
