Maratona da Europa 2027
The Maratona da Europa is an international running event held in the Aveiro region of Portugal. Established in 2019, the event has earned the World Athletics Road Race Label and is ranked among the top 100 marathons globally. The course is officially certified, known for being flat and fast, and allows participants to earn points for the world rankings.
The event takes place over two days, April 24 and 25, 2027, featuring multiple distances and a special combined challenge. The routes pass through the city of Aveiro, including its famous canals, as well as the Ria and the coast of Ílhavo.
Available distances include:
- 42 km (Marathon)
- 21 km (Half Marathon)
- 10 km
- 5 km (Walking/Running)
Participants can also take part in "The Challenge of the Canals," which involves competing on both days. This challenge offers two options: a combination of 10 km on Saturday followed by 21 km on Sunday, or 10 km on Saturday followed by 42 km on Sunday. Those who complete these combined events receive three medals. The event promotes inclusion and is open to participants of various abilities.
