NN Marathon Rotterdam
The NN Marathon Rotterdam is an international running event featuring a flat course in the city of Rotterdam. The event is recognized as one of the fastest marathons in the world and hosts the Dutch Marathon Championships (NK Marathon). The marathon weekend includes a variety of running and walking distances across Saturday and Sunday.
The program includes the following distances and categories:
- NN Marathon Rotterdam: 42.195 km
- 10 KM Rotterdam: 10 km
- City Run Rotterdam: 4.2 km
- NN Kids Runs: 1 km and 2.5 km
- The Marathon Rotterdam Walk: 5 km, 10 km, and 15 km
- Business Runs: Duo Marathon (2 persons) and Relay Marathon (4 persons)
- Your Marathon Challenge: 1.195 km final stretch
The event provides official time registration using an electronic chip attached to the bib number for all running components, including the 10 km and Kids Runs. Participants can access changing facilities and a bag drop-off area at the Schouwburgplein and De Doelen. Pacing teams are available for the marathon distance to help runners achieve specific finish times.
For the marathon distance, a pre-registration system is utilized due to high demand. Refreshment stations are positioned every 5 km along the route, offering water and isotonic drinks, with sponges and additional nutrition provided at specific intervals. All finishers receive a commemorative medal, which can be engraved on-site. The event also supports charitable causes, including KWF Kankerbestrijding and KLABU.
