Marathon International de Biarritz, Pays Basque

The Marathon International de Biarritz, Pays Basque is a multi-race running event held over a weekend on 24 and 25 April 2027 and coordinated by ExtraSports. The event features seven races that use routes through town streets, coastal fronts and nearby villages, with about 6 km of course on the ocean front.

The programme includes long and short distances, a relay format for teams of three, a half marathon that runs inside Biarritz with a seaside section, shorter road races and dedicated races for children on a track at Stade Aguilera. The 5 km Matmut event supports a solidarity programme with the partner Premiers de Cordee to help children in hospital or with disabilities access physical activity.

Organisers report a large volunteer presence and significant participation in recent editions, with 850 volunteers and about 18,000 participants in 2026; women represented 49 percent of starters. The event works with official partners and suppliers and presents race formats for individual and team participation across coastal and urban scenery.
