Trail Running in the Mont Blanc Massif
The Marathon du Mont-Blanc is a multi-day trail running event organized by the Club des Sports de Chamonix. Held in the trails surrounding Chamonix, the event brings together approximately 10,000 runners across various categories. The gathering includes a Trail Camp exhibition at the Place du Mont-Blanc and scheduled events across four days in June.
The event features a wide range of trail distances and formats to accommodate different types of runners:
- 90km du Mont-Blanc
- 42km du Mont-Blanc
- 23km du Mont-Blanc
- 10km du Mont-Blanc
- Duo Étoilé (night race for pairs)
- KM Vertical
- The Young Race
- Mini Cross (distances of 800m, 2km, and 3km)
Participants can pick up their bibs at the EMC2 hall by appointment. The courses utilize several landmark locations around the valley, including the Place du Triangle de l'Amitié for main starts and Planpraz for high-altitude finishes. In addition to the races, the program includes elite presentations, signing sessions, and awards ceremonies.
