Marathon des Châteaux du Médoc
The Marathon des Châteaux du Médoc is a long-distance running event held in the Pauillac region. The event is known for its festive atmosphere, with a specific costume theme each year; the theme for 2026 is "The 80s." The main course includes numerous points of interest and unique amenities for participants.
The event features:
- 42.2 km marathon distance
The course includes 22 refreshment stations and approximately 20 "oeno-sporting" tests, which consist of moderate wine tastings of grand crus. Additionally, there are 55 various animations and tasting points along the route offering regional products such as oysters, steak, cheese, grapes, and ice cream.
The festivities span several days. The day before the race, a marathon village and bib collection are available at the COSEC in Pauillac, along with pasta parties such as the "Mille-Pâtes" at Chateau Beychevelle and the "Pâtes à Caisses" in Saint Estèphe. On the day of the race, a publicity caravan and costume presentations precede the start. The day following the marathon, a recovery walk of approximately 10 km is organized for runners and companions in Saint Julien Beychevelle, followed by a meal.
Official bus transfers between Bordeaux and Pauillac are available via reservation. The event also includes an exhibitor village, a mobile application for participants, and a charity component. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
