About the race
The Marathon des Châteaux du Médoc is organized over the weekend of Friday 3 to Sunday 5 September 2027 around Pauillac and nearby communes in the Médoc region. The event combines the marathon with a program of local food and wine tastings, village activities and ancillary events. On the day before the race the Village Marathon and bib pickup take place at the COSEC of Pauillac. Official bus transfers between Bordeaux and Pauillac are available by reservation.
A hosted Mille-Pâtes dinner is planned at Château Fourcas Dupré in Listrac Médoc and is limited to 1,450 guests; entry requires the access bracelet handed out when collecting the bib. A separate pasta evening is scheduled at the Salle des Fêtes of Saint Estèphe. Throughout the town and on the quays there are animations, merchandise at the marathon shop and food and drink stalls. The marathon day includes a costume theme for 2027: "Exploration Médoc, à la conquête du Monde !".
The route features 22 refreshment points, about twenty oeno-sportif tasting tests with moderated wine tasting, and 55 animation and tasting points offering oysters, entrecôte, cheese, grapes, ice cream and other items. Animations take place on the quays and in the village next to the Maison du Vin. An awards ceremony is planned in the afternoon, followed by evening entertainment and fireworks. On the final day a recovery walk around Listrac Médoc is offered on reservation for a fee of €8 and limited to 3,000 participants.
A reserved lunch under a marquee at Château Fourcas Dupré is available by reservation and access requires the event bracelet. Local villages organize a midday village gourmand.
