Marathon des Châteaux du Médoc
The Marathon des Châteaux du Médoc is a running event located in Pauillac and the surrounding vineyards. The event features a full 42.195 km marathon distance and is recognized for its festive atmosphere, including a specific dress code theme. For the 2026 edition, the chosen theme is "The 80s."
The course is notable for its extensive support and entertainment stations. Along the route, participants find:
- 22 refreshment points
- Approximately 20 wine-tasting stations offering moderate doses of grand crus
- 55 diverse animations and tasting points featuring food such as oysters, steak, cheese, grapes, and ice cream
The event takes place over a full weekend. Activities begin on Friday with the bib collection and the "Mille-Pâtes" evening at Château Beychevelle. On Saturday, the marathon begins preceded by a parade of costumed runners and a publicity caravan. The day concludes with musical entertainment and fireworks. On Sunday, a recovery walk is organized in the commune of Saint Julien Beychevelle, followed by a communal meal.
