Maple Leaf Half Marathon
The Maple Leaf event in Manchester, Vermont, includes a half marathon and a 5K held each September, the Saturday following Labor Day. The course travels from the town center through village settings and along country roads past farmland, with early fall foliage typical at that time of year.
Distances:
- Half marathon (21.1 km)
- Kotler 5K
The event is a community fundraiser; net proceeds are donated to local charitable organizations. Registration is capped at 500 participants combined for both distances. Walkers may use the half-marathon course if they can complete it within the posted time limit. Participants must be at least 12 years old to enter the half marathon; there is no age limit for the 5K though minors need a parent or guardian signature.
Race logistics and services include onsite parking at Dana Thompson Recreation Park with additional parking nearby, multiple water stops (six on the half-marathon course and one on the 5K), and Gatorade available at every other water stop. A medical team will be on site near the event center. Wheelchairs and hand cycles are allowed; strollers and pets are not permitted except for ADA service dogs. Volunteers are essential to the event and receive a complimentary entry in exchange for service. Course re-certification is in progress.
