Malad Valley Marathon (Malad City, Idaho)
The Malad Valley Marathon is a multi-distance running event held in Malad City, Idaho. The race uses a single valley loop that starts and finishes in downtown Malad City and is offered in five distances. The full marathon covers the loop twice and the half marathon once; the 5K and 10K use out-and-back variations.

About half of the route is on hard-packed dirt and the other half on quiet paved roads, with wide valley views framed by the Bannock Range to the east and the Sublett Range to the west. The course lies at about 4,500 ft elevation and passes farmland, hay meadows, and grazing areas. Aid stations are placed roughly every 2 to 3 miles and first aid supplies are available on course. Chip timing is provided for the 5K, 10K, half, and full distances. Race entry includes a finisher medal and a technical race shirt. The event's inaugural edition takes place in 2026 and the race is scheduled annually on the second Saturday of September. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
