Malad Valley Marathon
The Malad Valley Marathon is a multi-distance running event in Malad City, Idaho, held the second Saturday of September; the 2027 race date is September 11, 2027. All distances share a single mass start at Malad City Park with the same course village for start and finish.
Distances offered:
- Full Marathon 26.2 miles, two laps of the half-marathon loop.
- Half Marathon 13.1 miles, one valley loop.
- 10K 6.2 miles, out-and-back on paved roads.
- 5K 3.1 miles, out-and-back on paved roads.
- 1 Mile Fun Run untimed community lap on a paved downtown loop.
Course and support details include about 50% hard-packed dirt and 50% asphalt for the half and full distances, while the 5K and 10K are fully paved. The full marathon lists approximate total climb of 1,260 feet and the course sits near 4,500 feet elevation. Aid is provided roughly every 2 to 3 miles with water, electrolytes, snacks, and on-course first aid; there are five aid stations in total. Chip timing and custom finisher medals are provided for the 5K, 10K, half, and full. The 1 Mile is untimed and does not include a finisher medal. Entries include free race photos posted within 48 hours, live results and tracking, and a race shirt for registrations completed by August 21, 2027 unless the no-shirt discount is chosen.
