Mad Trapper Relentless - The Ark, Denholm, QC
Mad Trapper Relentless takes place on a privately maintained trail network at The Ark in Denholm, Quebec, in the Gatineau Hills north of Ottawa. The event offers multiple distances on technical terrain that includes rocks, roots, climbs, descents, tight turns and gravel road sections.
Distances offered:
- 3K
- 5K
- 10K
- 21K (two 10.5K loops, about 720 m total elevation)
- 30K (hybrid: roughly 18K gravel road and 11K technical trail, about 819 m gain)
- 50K (18K gravel prologue then three 10.5K trail loops, about 1 523 m gain)
Courses are clearly marked with different coloured flags by distance. There are no cutoff times for the races. The 21K, 30K and 50K distances are recognized on the UTMB Index and officially ITRA recognized; the 21K and 30K earn 1 ITRA point each and the 50K earns 2 ITRA points.
Registered Relentless runners may camp for free at The Ark. The rustic off-grid campsite includes flat tenting areas, clean outhouses, a firepit, a picnic table and drinking water provided; warm outdoor showers are available for a small fee.
