Event Overview
The Mad Max Marathon Running Festival is a running event scheduled for July 26, 2026. This will be the fourth edition of the event, following previous ones in 2023, 2024, and 2025. It is part of a suite of regional running events organized by Marathon Adventures.

The festival offers several distances:

All events start with a loop of the Broken Hill Racecourse parkrun course. The longer events then proceed onto flat dirt tracks alongside Racecourse Road and the Silver City Highway. The marathon involves two laps of the half-marathon course. The 10km, half-marathon, and marathon events finish with a 2km lap of the racecourse.

Location and Venue
The event is held in Broken Hill, New South Wales, Australia. It starts and finishes at the Broken Hill Racecourse, which features the Gary Radford Pavilion. Camping facilities are available nearby. The event aims to attract runners to the heritage town and explore its connection to the Mad Max film franchise.
Community and Charity
The event is supported by the Broken Hill Rotary Club, which staffs the water stations. A key aim is to raise funds and awareness for the Maari Ma Health Aboriginal Corporation, which provides health services in far western NSW. Entrants are encouraged to add a donation to their registration fee.
Participant Perks
