Overview
The Lynchburg Road Runners Club Summer Track Series is a multi-week event with races on Tuesday evenings in June. It takes place on the track at the University of Lynchburg, formerly Lynchburg College. The event is open to participants of all ages and abilities. The cost for runners is one dollar per evening, with the exception of the 5,000m race on June 9th, which costs five dollars. Age group ribbons are awarded.
Distances and Schedule
The series features a different set of track races each week. Distances are primarily in meters, with the exception of one and two mile races. The weekly schedule includes events such as the 100m, 200m, 400m, 800m, 1500m, 1 mile, 2 mile, and a 5,000m race on June 9th. Each Tuesday features a unique combination of these races, including open and age-group heats, as well as special events for children four and under. A makeup date is scheduled for June 30th in case of cancellation.
