Lowca 10k
The Lowca 10k is a road running event held in the village of Lowca, Cumbria. The race follows an out and back course primarily situated on the west coast cycle way. Participants travel from the starting point near the local rugby club through Distington toward a turning point located near Harrington. The route is measured according to UKA rules and features clear signage and marshals throughout the course.
The event provides specific amenities for participants at the Lowca Rugby Club on West Croft Terrace. Facilities include on-site parking, toilets, and showers. For hydration during the run, drinks stations are positioned at approximately the 3 km and 7 km marks, with additional drinks provided at the finish line. A lead bike and a sweeper runner accompany the field to assist with navigation and safety.
The registration process offers both online pre-entry and on the day entry, provided the field has not reached its maximum capacity of 250 runners. The race uses electronic chip timing to record participant times, with live results available online. After completion, participants are provided with refreshments and a buffet where the prize presentation takes place.
