Louisville St. Patrick's Day

Event Overview

The Louisville St. Patrick's Day event takes place on Saturday, March 14, 2026. It includes three different activities: a 5K Run/Walk, a 5K Competitive Walk, and a 1/2 Mile Fun Run. The event is presented by the Louisville High School Cross Country program.

Course Details

The 5K course is described as mostly flat. It starts in front of Louisville High School at 1201 Nickel Plate S. The route winds through Metzger Park and along the Nickleplate Trail, finishing back at the high school.

Registration and Fees

• The 5K Run/Walk and 5K Competitive Walk have a standard entry fee of $30, with a discounted rate of $20 for participants aged 1 to 17.
• The price for these events increases after February 28, 2026.
• The 1/2 Mile Fun Run is free and open to participants aged 10 and under.

Participant Perks

All participants in the 5K events have the option to receive a St. Patrick's Day race t-shirt, available in unisex sizes from X-Small to 2X-Large. Choosing a no-shirt option provides a $5 discount. T-shirt availability may be limited after February 28. All 5K finishers receive a unique finisher medal.

Awards

For the 5K Run/Walk, awards are given to the top three overall male and female finishers, the top male and female masters, and the top male and female grand masters. Age group awards (top three male and female) are also given across multiple categories. The 5K Competitive Walk awards the top five overall male and female finishers.
