About the race
The Lost Gold event in Washington, Georgia is a community race day held on Saturday, April 24, 2027, centered on the historic Washington Town Square. The 5K race is officially timed by Run the Tangents Timing. The event also includes a short fun run aimed at younger participants.
The event supports Friends of the Square; proceeds will fund community-centered arts and entertainment activities and events that promote civic engagement and pride on the historic Washington Town Square.

Packet and T-shirt pickup is scheduled the day before at the Washington-Wilkes Tourist Information Center, 26 West Square, Washington, GA. Packets not picked up in advance will be available at race registration on the day of the event.
Awards are presented by overall finishers and by age groups, with first-place male and female in each category: 14 and under; 15–19; 20–29; 30–39; 40–49; 50–59; 60–69; and 70 and older. Medals are ordered on March 13, 2027; registrants after that date are not guaranteed a medal if they place.
Registration options include combinations of bib, timing chip, and T-shirt as well as fun run and T-shirt only choices, with different fees depending on registration date. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
