Los Muertos 5K
The Los Muertos 5K is a Day of the Dead themed 5k run/walk held in Los Angeles around Historic Olvera Street. The event features music along the course and a post-race Día de los Muertos celebration and finish line festival. All finishers receive a race t-shirt and a finisher medal.
The course starts on Main Street in El Pueblo de Los Ángeles Historical Monument, runs through lower Chinatown, then follows Alameda toward Los Angeles State Historic Park. The route turns around near 19th Avenue after crossing the Los Angeles River and returns toward Olvera Street, offering views of the downtown skyline and an uphill finish back at the festival area.
Race day services include advance packet pickup, on-site bib and t-shirt pickup, face painting, awards, merchandise, and a virtual 5K option. Advance packet pickup is offered at local breweries including Boomtown Brewery and Angel City Brewery. There is no designated bag drop; participants should carry valuables or leave them in a vehicle or at home.
Parking options near Olvera Street include metered street parking and several nearby garages, including the Gateway Center Plaza Garage attached to Union Station, listed with a $9 cost at that location. The event partners with the Olvera Street Merchants Association Foundation. Health measures will follow current public health guidance. The entry policy states no refunds; entries may be converted to a virtual event in some circumstances and person-to-person transfers are allowed for registrants aged 18 or older.
