Los Muertos 5K
The Los Muertos 5K is a Day of the Dead themed 5 kilometer run and walk held in Los Angeles on October 31, 2026. The course begins in the El Pueblo de Los Ángeles Historical Monument near Olvera Street, runs through lower Chinatown, continues along Alameda toward Los Angeles State Historic Park, turns around near 19th Avenue after crossing the Los Angeles River, and returns to Olvera Street for a finish line festival. Music will be present along the course and there is a post-race Dia de los Muertos celebration.
Event options include in-person race day participation and a virtual 5K. Packet pickup is available in advance at Angel City Brewery on October 25, 2026 and on race morning at Historic Olvera Street; participants must present their confirmation and acceptable photo ID for pickup. There will not be a designated bag drop; participants are advised to keep valuables with them or in their vehicle.
All finishers receive a cotton race t-shirt and a finisher medal. Merchandise such as hoodies and bandanas is offered separately. Parking options are available around Olvera Street, including metered street parking, small lots accessed via Cesar Chavez, a large garage at 414 E. Commercial St, and the Gateway Center Plaza Garage attached to Union Station where parking is listed at $9. The Olvera Street Merchants Association Foundation is a nonprofit partner for the event.
