Llangunnor 5K Fun Run
The event is a community organised 5K run that starts and finishes in Llangunnor Community Park, Carmarthen SA31 2LE. The main race is open to participants aged 12 and over; 12 to 15 year olds must be supervised by an adult. The course runs mainly on pavements, includes some road crossings, is signposted and marshalled, and follows a route that includes uphill, downhill and flat sections with views across the Towy Valley and Carmarthen.
Entry fees are specified for adults and affiliated runners, and kids races in the park are free. Prizes are awarded for first, second and third places in male and female categories, plus a first junior prize. The event is limited in numbers to help maintain safety. A trained emergency response person will be present to support wellbeing, while participants remain responsible for their own safety and must abide by the rules of UK Athletics.
No parking is available inside the park; local parking is available at Stephens Way Retail Park, outside Llangunnor School, or on nearby streets and car sharing is encouraged. A small tent will be provided for belongings at participants own risk. Remaining proceeds are allocated to Llangunnor Community Council to help fund community events.
