Event Overview
The Lipno Ice Marathon is a winter sporting event held on the frozen surface of Lake Lipno. The race is situated at an altitude of 729 meters above sea level. Participants navigate an unpaved terrain consisting of ice and snow, often facing temperatures as low as -20°C. The event has a total capacity limited to 200 participants.

Categories and Equipment
The event offers two distinct ways to compete. The classic running category requires standard winter running shoes suitable for ice and snow. Alternatively, the Freestyle category allows participants to use various equipment such as skates, cross-country skis, kites, ice yachts, or bicycles. Athletes in the Freestyle category may use a single method or combine multiple types of equipment to complete the course, depending on weather conditions.
Facilities and Experience
The registration fee includes the option for accommodation in the participant's own tent directly at the race location. This setup is intended to simulate extreme conditions similar to the Antarctic Ice Marathon.
