About the race
The Oberbank Linz Danube Marathon is a multi‑event running weekend held in Linz. The event has been held since 2002 and the 25th edition is scheduled for April 11, 2027. The programme includes several competitions under the Linz Marathon umbrella, among them the Oberbank Marathon, ORLEN Half Marathon, Hyundai Relay Marathon, LINZ AG Quarter Marathon, Generali 5K, Ascendor Handbike Half Marathon, Fischer Brot Inline Skating Half Marathon, the ÖGK Junior Marathon and a Special Olympics Run. The event regularly records over 21,000 participants and around 150,000 spectators.
The organisers publish starting place limits and entry fees for each competition; for 2027 the published start quotas are 2,800 places for the marathon, 5,700 for the half marathon, 700 relays for the relay marathon, 5,800 for the quarter marathon, 2,400 for the 5K, 25 for the handbike half marathon and 200 for the inline skating half marathon. The official entry deadline for 2027 is Thursday 18.3.2027. Registrations are possible only while starting places last. Other athlete information includes mandatory parental consent for under 18s, an optional medal engraving for €12, a registration confirmation sent by e‑mail about one week before the race and rules that prohibit bicycles, roller skates, baby carriages and accompaniment by non‑participants.
