The event has been held since 2002 and regularly attracts over 21,000 participants and many spectators.
Entry limits apply for all competitions. For 2027 the organiser lists starting spots and fees for each race, for example 2,800 places for the Oberbank marathon and 5,700 places for the ORLEN half marathon. Fees are published in contingent phases for 2027 and vary by competition. Group registration is available for groups of ten or more. National marathon championship entries must be submitted exclusively via the ÖLV ATHMIN system.
Practical notes from the organiser: the closing date for entries is Thursday, 18 March 2027 and registrations are possible only while places remain available.
