Lights on for Families 5k and Fun Run
Lights on for Families is a nighttime running event at Sugar House Park in Salt Lake City on July 11, 2026. The event uses the park inner loop for its course and includes categories for adults and juniors ages 5 to 11.
Participants can choose between two course options:
- Full Glow: complete 5K by circling the park inner loop twice.
- Quick Spark: one loop, about 1.5 miles, finishes at festivities.
The route includes neon zones with blacklights and music. Every participant receives a starter glow kit of glow in the dark accessories. An after party with music follows the finish area.
Proceeds from registrations and donations support the Family Support Center. Funds are directed to local crisis nurseries, parenting education classes, and the LifeStart village.
Race apparel and swag are managed by advance ordering. Registrations completed before June 20 are guaranteed a race shirt and swag. Registrations after June 20 are not guaranteed shirts or swag; remaining inventory will be distributed at packet pickup on a first come first served basis while supplies last.
