Lights on for Families 5k and Fun Run
The Lights on for Families 5k and Fun Run is a night-time running event held at Sugar House Park in Salt Lake City, Utah. This event serves as a fundraiser to support the local Family Support Center, with proceeds benefiting crisis nurseries, parenting education, and the LifeStart village. Participants navigate a glowing course designed to avoid the daytime heat while promoting community impact.
The event offers two primary distances:
- 5.0 Km (The Full Glow): Participants complete two loops of the park’s inner loop.
- 1.6 Mi (The Quick Spark): Participants complete a single loop of the park.
The course features specialized Glow Stations equipped with blacklights and high-energy music. Participants receive a starter pack of glow-in-the-dark accessories to wear during the run. The event concludes with an after-party featuring music for the community.
Registration includes an official race shirt and swag for those who sign up before June 20th. For registrations occurring after this date, shirts and gear are distributed on a first-come, first-served basis at packet pickup while supplies last. The event is open to various age groups, including junior categories for participants aged 5 to 11. Strollers and walkers are permitted on the course.
