Lightning Bolt 10k, Langley Burrell
The Lightning Bolt 10k is a measured 10 km road race held in Langley Burrell, Chippenham, Wiltshire SN15 4LL. It is one race in a five-event series for 2026. The course has an overall elevation change of 14 metres and is registered with UKA / Run Britain.
Chip timing is used and distance markers are placed every mile. Pacers are provided to guide runners to target times, with pacing groups from 35 to 70 minutes. The race has an official Certificate of Course Accuracy.
Entry options include online and day entry with different prices for affiliated and unaffiliated runners. Medals are optional at registration to reduce event waste and lower entry costs. Klarna is offered as a payment option to allow instalment payments.
Elite entry spaces are available for athletes meeting the stated recent performance criteria: men under 31 minutes and women under 34 minutes in the past 12 months. A time limit of 1 hour 15 minutes is in place; after this time marshals will be removed and participants are expected to make their own way back to the finish.
The event site for registration is Langley Burrell Village Hall. The race takes place in a rural area where horses and riders may be encountered; participants are asked to give horses wide space, pass slowly in single file and stop if a horse is startled. The event is suitable for visually impaired runners if the organiser is informed in advance; it is not suitable for wheelchair athletes following recent risk assessments and insurance advice.
