Awareness and Inclusion: I Am Different, Not Less
The Graham Academy hosts a community event on May 2 at Public Square in Wilkes-Barre called Awareness and Inclusion: I Am Different, Not Less. The event includes a 5K running race and is presented to celebrate individuality, promote inclusion, and support children.
The school describes its mission as creating brighter futures for students regardless of learning barriers or other challenges. The Graham Academy serves 45 school districts across multiple counties and is dedicated to increasing awareness of the special needs community.
Event activities include vendors, food trucks, Battle of the Bands, A Rock Around the Block, and several organizations on site to share information about available supports. Registration opens March 1, 2026 and closes May 2, 2026, with a registration fee of $20. Funds raised from registration benefit A Moment of Magic Foundation, a nonprofit focused on improving the lives of medically vulnerable children through play, creative engagement, and emotional support.
